After recording four critically acclaimed albums for Stretch/Concord Records, jazz bassist/pianist/composer/arranger Avishai Cohen with business manager Ray Jefford established Razdaz Recordz during 2003.
Razdaz Recordz, released its debut in September 2003 with Lyla SSC4601 an extraordinary 11-song collection that encompasses a range of styles and showcases Cohen’s multifaceted musical prowess.
“I’ve always been interested in several genres of music, including jazz, rock, pop, Latin and funk,” says Cohen. “ I’m always packed with ideas. I decided to start my own label because I’m involved in so many different projects.”
Eventually Cohen wants Razdaz Recordz to record and produce younger musicians who he’s enthusiastic about, but for starters the label gives him an outlet to creatively express the diversity of his musical vision.
In 2004 Razdaz Recordz established worldwide distribution through it’s many collective partners to ensure the music is out there, in many mediums at all times.
